The Act Your Age! method uses drama, movement and dance to foster and develop
each child’s own creativity. This method helps children to develop social skills and build confidence in a fun atmosphere. Stimuli used in class include storytelling, poetry, mime, music and dance. Each student receives a folder at the beginning of the term in which they can keep the materials used in class throughout the year. Drama can be a great key to unlocking your child’s imagination!

The classes have three main strands. The main subject is Drama, and the secondary work is in the areas of Speech Work and Dance/Movement. Each subject has a slightly
different focus:

In Drama,
the focus is on:
Having fun
Building confidence
Developing social skills
Learning about drama/acting
Developing the imagination
Working as a team

In Speech,
the focus is on:

Improving
communication skills
Learning poetry
and storytelling

In Movement,
the focus is on:
Introducing students
to various styles of music
Working on co-ordination,
rhythm and timing
